Birthday Hugs and Wishes

I made this card for my daughter's birthday. She LOVES elephants, pink and Action Wobbles. I knew that I better take some pictures of it before I gave it to her because I didn't know how long it would last after she played with it ;). I've entered it into the Whimsical Wednesday Challenge and the Cooking with the Cricut Challenge.

The Action Wobble is attached to the ball and so the elephant is really trying to keep its balance. He he! Here is a quick video of it wobbling.

New Baker's Twine Colors from The Twinery!

Hey everyone, I just wanted to share an awesome deal. The Twinery is having a sale in celebration of their awesome new colors of baker's twine. I LOVE my baker's twine. I have used a few different brands and this is MY all time favorite brand. The baker's twine from The Twinery is a little thicker and vibrant in my opinion. Anyway, they have added 3 more colors and they are beautiful. I hope they keep adding more colors!!! They are doing an awesome giveaway and they have a 25% off your purchase promo code on their blog. Go to this LINK for more information. They are a great deal by the spool, but if you would like to get a wider varitey of colors in a smaller quanity to start out with, they have some amazing sampler sets to get you started.

Here is a picture of the new colors:

And here are a couple of my old projects using baker's twine to show you how fun it can be. If you are interested in the details for any of these projects click on the picture and it will take you to the original post.

Thanks Jennifer for reminding me of my very first card using Baker's Twine. This is the card that started my Baker's Twine obsession. Here it is:

Happy Birthday Peachy Princess!

While on Facebook Thursday afternoon I noticed that the Peachy Princess (Angelica) was about to have a birthday. She is such a sweetheart and she did a phenomenal job of making her Mom's birthday SO special last month. I wanted to make sure that I made her a card to let her know how much I appreciate her. She has become a great encouragement to me. I really appreciate the friendship I have made with her recently, even if it has only been 'through the computer'. Thanks so much Angelica and HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! Here is your card, I'm sorry it won't make it to you in time, it only started it's way to you yesterday.

For the sentiment I mixed and matched sentiment stamps. I think they look really cute together. I used 'to my' from Emma's (My Creative Time's) Mom You Rock stamp set and the 'Amiga' is from Angelica's BFF set (It normally says amigas, I just wiped the S off after I had inked it up).

Isn't that little FLAN the cutest?! Angelica is the artist of this stamp. It is from her Market Street Stamps set called BFFs. This cutie patootie flan really won me over. I just had to have this set of stamps. I ate a LOT of flan when I lived in France. I know, who would have thought, right? It IS so yummy and this stamp brings back a lot of memories. I paper pieced the stamp, inked it with some Tim Holtz Distress Inks and colored in the mouth and cheeks with some Copic markers.

I kept the card fairly simple. Here is a picture of the inside.

I couldn't resist putting that cute little flan on an Action Wobble, so voila, a super short video of the wobble flan.

Items Used:

*Market Street Stamps - BFFs
*My Creative Time Stamps - Mom You Rock
*Tim Holtz Distress Inks
*Baker's Twine

Smile, It's Your Birthday!

This is the card that I made for my nephew's birthday.

I made my own patterned paper for this card. I used some glossy stamping paper and the super cute Robo Star stamp by Market Street Stamps. I used my Versamark ink pad and then added some white embossing powder. I heat set the embossing and then with a sponge and some different shades of red and orange ink I sponged the background. I haven't used this technique in a really long time. I forgot how much I like it.

The little robot from B is Boy Cricut Lite cartridge is attached to an Action Wobble. I didn't have time to make a short video, but I'm pretty sure most of you can imagine it wobbling back and forth saying "Smile, it's your birthday," in robot language. Thanks for stopping by. I hope it is a great day!

Have a Sham-rockin' Day!!!!

Alright, I just got my stamps from Emma (My Creative Time), and can I tell you they are AMAZING! They are so SUPER cute and they stamp like a dream because they are manufactured by Peachy Keen Stamps. Those of you who are Peachy fans know what kind of quality that is. Emma has designed some gorgeous stamps!!!

While I know that St Patty's Day is a ways off. I had this idea for this stamp and had to make it. This sentiment comes from the I Believe in Leprechauns stamps set. I hope you like it.

Here is a closer look at this adorable stamp set

I had to attach the shamrock to an Action Wobble, so it could be rockin'. So here is another really short video.

Speaking of Action Wobbles. Here is some awesome Action Wobble news. They are available for sale for a limited time (until the first production batch runs out). You can BUY some by clicking on the link HERE . Thanks Snow Much!

I know you have all seen this cute little skating girl a bunch lately, but I just got my Winter Frolic Cricut cartridge and my Happy Lashes Peachy Keen Stamps and I had to play around with them. So, here is my card:

There are a lot of snow related challenges this week. First of all I wanted to make a thank you card for the Let's Face it Friday Peachy Keen Challenge. Fantabulous Cricut wanted a project with snow or snowflakes. Jitterbuggin' wanted me to follow a sketch, use blue, and something snow related. Made by Momo's Tuesday challenge was a snow theme. And Cooking with Cricut's theme is snow fun.

I thought the ice skater needed some motion, I've seen a lot of people add an Action Wobble to the cute ice skating girl, so definitely not an original idea, but I thought it completed the card. Below is another short clip showing the ice skater attached to an Action Wobble. I apologize for the slight shadow.

Items Used:

*Winter Frolic Cricut cartridge
*Winter Lace Cricut cartridge
*Peachy Keen Happy Lashes face assortment

Throwback Thursday and EXCITING News!

First of all I have to share my SUPER exciting news! I've known for almost a week, but Emma (My Creative Time) decided to do a design team and she chose me along with 7 other talented crafters. Can I just say that the fact that she chose me has put me on cloud 9. She is one of the sweetest crafters around. She was the second 'follower' of my blog (my sweet husband was the first). She is amazingly talented and so positive and encouraging towards other crafters. Oh and did I mention that she just came out with some super adorable sentiment stamps! This is going to be an awesome team to be on. I can't wait for my 3 month adventure! THANKS SO much to Miss EMMA!!!!

Every other Thursday Emma does a challenge on her blog called Throwback Thursday. This week we could use whichever cartridge we wanted but needed to incorporate a heart. Here is my kitty valentine that I made yesterday:

I had already made this little puppy valentine card last Sunday. I wanted to share it now because I think they make a super cute set. This dog and cat come from the Sweethearts cartridge, and in my opinion, they are not all that cute with the faces they come with, but add a Peachy Keen Stamps face and they are SERIOUSLY about the CUTEST things on earth!

Oh, I love Valentine's Day. I'm looking forward to making lots of other cute Valentines. How about all of you?

The cat and the dog both have a bobble head thanks to an Action Wobble. Here is yet another short video showing how fun these Action Wobbles are.

ZUMBA!!!

Yes, I love Zumba! It is a dance/aerobic type craze that has hit the nation. And I'm happy to be a part of it. I have a super sweet friend that has been teaching a community class, for free, 2-3 times a week. She has helped me start back on the path to a healthier lifestyle. I won't get too personal but I have lost a few (of many) VERY unwanted pounds and my bloodpressure has gone from borderline high to almost perfectly normal. Anyway, this sweet friend is heading in for her Zumba certification today and I wanted to wish her luck with this shape card.

This little cutie is from the Twinkle Toes Cricut Lite cartridge. I thought she looked like she could be an aerobics girl as well. Doesn't that adorable Peachy Keen Stamp make her look so SUPER cute. I love Peachy Keen Stamps!!!!! Anyway, I hope my friend likes her card, but more importantly I hope she knows how much I appreciate her willingness to help us ladies get/keep in shape.

Congratulations on Your Baptism

I have made a couple of baptism cards lately. This girl one is for a sweet lady in my neighborhood that was baptized and joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I must admit that this one is my favorite of the two cards.

This next card is for my nephew who just turned eight and is being baptized on Saturday. The image is from the Inspired Heart Cricut cartridge. It lends itself to very simple cuts, but it is perfect for my nephew and this special occasion. The sentiment is from the Faithful Sayings stamps designed by My Pink Stamper.

Happy New Year!

I know that I'm a little late, but it is only the 3rd, so Happy New Year. I saw a lot of New Year cards on everyone's blog and I asked my husband what he thought the main theme was. He said, "The Baby New Year." I replied, "No, I didn't see any of those at all." So he suggested that I should make one. Here it is and happy 2011 to all of you.

I attached my Baby New Year to an Action Wobble so he could be partying. Here is a really short video of him dancing, sorry that the card is a little slanted in the video, it was late.

Paws-itively Wonderful Birthday!

I just wanted to share a VERY simple poster that I made for my daughter's birthday. We always decorate for birthdays with banners, posters and balloons.

I designed and printed the project in my Disney Print Creations program that I've had for years. I printed a duplicate Lady so I could cut her head and collar separate and pop them up with an Action Wobble. It was a success, my daughter noticed it and played with it VERY first thing. Below is a short video of the poster in motion.

This poster was inspired by a cute little bobble head Lady toy that my daughter got at Disneyland last month (they are similar to the Littlest Pet Shop toys, just with Disney characters).  My daughter wanted a blue, heart shaped birthday cake with her Lady and Pluto bobble head toys on it. I'm attaching a picture below so you can see the toys. I'm definitely not great at making cakes and I don't have any fancy tools for making them, but here is the birthday cake. Also, I have to give KUDOS to Miss Nikki, The Scrappin' Navy Wife. She made a card that inspired the paw print on top of the heart cake. Click HERE if you would like to see her card.
